The details regarding Mercedes’ reserve driver Mick Schumacher’s maiden run with the W14 have been revealed. Schumacher is set to run the W14 during the two-day Pirelli tyre test after the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.

Mercedes have announced that Schumacher will be behind the wheel on the second day of the test, with George Russell set to test the tyres on the first day.

Schumacher made his Formula One debut with Haas in 2021. After not being retained by the team post the 2022 F1 season, he was signed as a reserve driver by Mercedes in December 2022.

Toto Wolff, Team Principal, Mercedes, commented:

After the Grand Prix weekend, Mick [Schumacher] will also get his first real-world taste of the W14 on the second day of the Pirelli tyre test. He has done a great job with the Team so far, working hard back in the simulator and giving valuable input trackside.

We’re looking forward to him getting his first taste of on-track running this year, and sure it will help him in his role as Reserve Driver.
