New York City FC (NYCFC) have announced a partnership agreement with Modelo, which thus becomes the Official Import Beer of the club as well as the presenting partner of their match on Cinco de Mayo (May 5) at Citi Field, their home ground.

Model will also act as a Supporting Partner of NYCFC’s “Pub Partner” programme, through which the official “Supporters Bars” of the club will get opportunities to host official watch parties and receive co-branded items.

Modelo’s branding will also be present in-stadium during the team’s MLS home games, on the club’s digital platforms, and also in a variety of out-of-home placements throughout New York City.

Andres Gonzalez, Vice President — Partnerships, New York City FC, commented:

New York City FC and Modelo both strive to provide fans and consumers with a best-in-class experience while celebrating our diverse communities, making this partnership a great fit for both organisations. We are excited to welcome Modelo to the New York City FC family as we continue to grow the love of the beautiful game.

Rene Ramos, Senior Vice President, Brand Activation, Constellation Brands, said:

Modelo is thrilled to be partnering with New York City FC as the Official Import Beer for the Club. We’re proud to be able to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with New York City FC as the presenting partner of that day’s match along with toasting the Club’s mark of a fighter all season long with our market programming.
