On Day 13 of the 2024 Paris Olympics, records tumbled as Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone of the USA broke the world record in the Women’s 400m Hurdles event with a timing of 50.34 seconds.
Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo won the Men’s 200m final with a timing of 19.46 seconds to secure his first gold medal at the Olympics. This is also the first-ever Olympic gold for his country.

HOCKEY
Men’s Bronze Medal
Team India brought some much-needed respite and elation to the fans back home by winning the bronze medal, beating Spain with a score line of 2-1.
With this result, the India men’s hockey team have won back-to-back Olympic medals for the first time since 1980.
WRESTLING
Women’s Freestyle 57 kg
Anshu Malik lost her first-round bout 2-7 to Helen Maroulis of the US.
Men’s Freestyle 57 kg
Aman Sehrawat lost his semi-final bout 0-10 (by technical superiority) to Japan’s Rei Higuchi. Sehrawat will now play for the bronze medal.
ATHLETICS
Women’s 100m hurdles Repechage Round Heat 1
India’s Jyothi Yarraji raced to a P4 finish in the repechage round with a timing of 13.16 seconds, but it wasn’t enough to qualify for the semi-finals.
Men’s Javelin Throw Finals
Golden boy Neeraj Chopra won the silver with a throw of 89.45 metres, while Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem breached the 90m mark twice, setting an Olympic record of 92.97 metres to clinch the gold medal.

After Round 2, Both Indian golfers Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok are placed P14 in the standings. Round 3 will be played tomorrow.
