Premier League 2025/26 Gameweek 7: Preview and Predictions

Premier League football returns this weekend after Matchday 2 of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League in midweek.

The top encounter of this weekend is a massive clash between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge alongside some really competitive fixtures, with Leeds United taking on Spurs, Bournemouth facing Fulham, and Manchester United hosting Sunderland.

Without further ado, here we present our previews and predictions for all games of Gameweek 7 of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Bournemouth vs Fulham

While Bournemouth are in a great position after six games, Fulham haven’t really got going.

The Cherries rescued a point late on against Leeds last week. Their back line is almost entirely new, which has led to their defence being slightly vulnerable, though they still have a potent attack, with Antoine Semenyo being the difference maker. As for Fulham, they lost to Aston Villa in their last league game. Even though they scored early, Villa came back in style to take all three points, further exposing the Cottagers’ topsy-turvy form.

As for injury issues, Lewis Cook and Adam Smith will be missing this game for Bournemouth, while Fulham have their first-choice forwards Raúl Jiménez and Rodrigo Muniz out of contention, with defender Kenny Tete also on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Coming into this game, Bournemouth have both home advantage and form on their side. Fulham, meanwhile, have been struggling with form, and their front-line injury crisis further makes them weaker. We anticipate a Bournemouth win, though they might concede a goal due to their vulnerable defence.

Score prediction: Bournemouth 2–1 Fulham

Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Being at home will work in their favour, and a fully rested squad will be an added advantage for Leeds, with Spurs having played Champions League football earlier in the week.

Spurs snatched a point late on against Wolves last weekend before coming back from 2–0 down to steal a point against Bodø/Glimt. Leeds, meanwhile, conceded a late goal against Bournemouth to share the spoils.

On the injury front, Leeds have Wilfried Gnonto and Lucas Perri out for this game, while Spurs have a long list of injured players, with Cristian Romero, Dominic Solanke, Randal Kolo Muani, Yves Bissouma, and Dejan Kulusevski out of contention along with long-term absentees James Maddison and Radu Dragusin.

Due to their piled-up injury issues, Spurs’ form has understandably gone down. Against a defensively solid Leeds side, they could find the going difficult. Having played in midweek means fatigue is likely to kick in early, making the circumstances just about right for a narrow Leeds win here.

Score prediction: Leeds United 2–1 Spurs

Manchester United vs Sunderland

With no games in midweek, both teams have fully rested squads coming into this game, making a high-intensity encounter likely.

United are still struggling for form, having lost to a feisty Brentford side away from home last time out, while Sunderland came back in their last encounter to grab three massive points at the City Ground.

After they beat Chelsea at home, everyone had expected Man United to find some consistency, but they’re still not playing up to the standard expected of them. Sunderland, on the other hand, are proving to be a surprise package this season, having made a great start to their league campaign.

As for injuries, United continue missing long-term absentee Lisandro Martínez as well as Noussair Mazraoui, while Sunderland will be without Habib Diarra, Reinildo Mandava, Romaine Mundle, Aji Alese, Dennis Cirkin, and Leo Hjelde for this game.

Despite their defeat to Brentford, Man United will want to continue playing the attacking brand of football that earned them the win against Chelsea. However, Sunderland have demonstrated that they are no pushovers and are more than capable of troubling this sloppy United defence. This game could end in an entertaining draw.

Score prediction: Man United 2–2 Sunderland

Arsenal vs West Ham United

Arsenal won their midweek UCL game against Greek champions Olympiacos comfortably at home, with in-form Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka ending up on the score sheet. As for West Ham, a run of abysmal performances has led to the sacking of manager Graham Potter, with former Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo having replaced him right away. His first game saw the Hammers draw away at Everton.

As for injuries, Arsenal have a few players doubtful to start this game, with Gabriel Magalhães, Noni Madueke, and Piero Hincapié all carrying knocks. West Ham, meanwhile, have Aaron-Wan Bissaka injured and Tomáš Soucek suspended for this game.

This is a very strong Arsenal side who are difficult to beat at home. It’s hard to see anything but a comfortable win for the Gunners here.

Score prediction: Arsenal 2–0 West Ham

Chelsea vs Liverpool

While the Blues are struggling with team discipline and injuries, Liverpool have issues of their own. Chelsea lost to Brighton at home in their last league game but managed to win their UCL encounter against Benfica. However, they went down to ten men in both games, which is a massive concern for coach Enzo Maresca.

Liverpool, on the other hand, lost their 100% record in the league last time out with a defeat at Crystal Palace. Then, they lost away to Galatasaray in the UCL in midweek, which marked back-to-back defeats for Arne Slot & Co. The Reds have been vulnerable on transitions all season so far, and their defensive issues do not look like going away any time soon.

Chelsea have a massive problem in their back line, with Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, and Tosin Adarabioyo all injured, and Trevoh Chalobah suspended for this game. Liverpool, meanwhile, not only lost the game in midweek but also lost goalkeeper Alisson Becker and forward Hugo Ekitike to injuries.

This is a tough game for two sides struggling in their own ways. Liverpool haven’t won at Stamford Bridge in five years, and it’s hard to see them winning this weekend as well despite Chelsea’s defensive issues. This game is most likely to end in a draw.

Score prediction: Chelsea 1–1 Liverpool

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Brighton & Hove Albion

The hosts have managed to get a few decent results in the past week; they beat Everton in the Carabao Cup before grabbing a point against Spurs at home.

Brighton, on the other hand, have registered two massive results — a huge 6–0 win in the League Cup against Barnsley and a 3–1 win away at Stamford Bridge against a ten-man Chelsea.

As for injuries, Wolves have Enso González out with a knee injury, while Brighton have Adam Webster, Jack Hinshelwood, and Solly March out of contention for this game.

Based on their attacking ability, Brighton are the clear favourites to win this encounter, especially since Wolves have been pretty abysmal at home. Their improved form could give the hosts a bit of confidence, but it’s hard to see Brighton dropping points in this one.

Score prediction: Wolves 1–3 Brighton

Newcastle United vs Nottingham Forest

After two straight losses, the Magpies responded with a dominant performance away in the UCL earlier in the week with a 4–0 rout of Union Saint-Gilloise; striker Nick Woltemade opened the scoring, while Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes also got on the score sheet.

On the other hand, Forest continued their poor run of form with a 3–2 home defeat in their UEFA Europa League encounter against Danish side Midtjylland. The Tricky Trees look like a completely different team this season, having lost three of their last five games. To add to their woes, St James’ Park is a difficult stadium to visit for any side; it is bound to be even more intimidating for Forest in their current state.

Newcastle have Yoane Wissa, Jacob Ramsey, and Tino Livramento out for a long period, while Forest are without Murillo, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Douglas Luiz, and Ola Aina for this game.

Looking at the two teams, the Geordies have home advantage along with an in-form forward line. This should be a comfortable win for the hosts.

Score prediction: Newcastle 2–0 Nottingham Forest

Aston Villa vs Burnley

Aston Villa are slowly and steadily finding their rhythm, having secured two wins on the trot after a dismal start to the season. After beating Fulham last weekend, Villa defeated Feyenoord in their Europa League game in midweek.

The Clarets, on the other hand, are finding the going tough since returning to the top flight and were thumped 5–1 by Manchester City last weekend. Scott Parker needs to find solutions soon, or Burnley will be looking at an immediate relegation.

Villa have a long list of players out injured, with Jadon Sancho, Amadou Onana, Tyrone Mings, Youri Tielemans, and Ross Barkley sidelined. Burnley, meanwhile, have Zeki Amdouni, Connor Roberts, and Jordan Beyer unavailable for this game.

Looking at the quality and form of the two teams, Villa should win this one. However, they have struggled to score this season, which may make things harder for them.

Score prediction: Aston Villa 1–0 Burnley

Everton vs Crystal Palace

While the Toffees are without a win in their last four games, the Eagles have won their last three, including beating Liverpool with a last-gasp winner in the league before comfortably winning their UEFA Conference League game against Dynamo Kyiv. At their new home, the Toffees are tough to beat, but Oliver Glasner’s men have shown remarkable consistency since the business end of last season.

On the injury front, Everton are without the injured Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Röhl, while Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall is suspended for this game. As for Palace, they have fringe players Caleb Kporha, Chadi Riad, and Cheick Doucouré unavailable due to injuries.

Looking at the two teams, Palace should be the hot favourites to win this one, but Everton have the home advantage and a far better head-to-head record, having also beaten the Eagles away last season. A draw is very much on the cards.

Score prediction: Everton 1–1 Crystal Palace

Brentford vs Manchester City

While Brentford upset Man United 3–1 at home last time out, Man City decimated Burnley 5–1 as Erling Haaland bagged a late brace. Igor Thiago bagged an early brace for the Bees, who then managed to keep the Red Devils at bay to secure all three points.

In their latest UCL encounter, City conceded a late penalty against Monaco to draw 2–2 after another Haaland brace. Brentford, meanwhile, didn’t have a midweek game and are well rested for this one.

As for injuries, Brentford do not have major concerns, but the Cityzens still have several players out, with Abdukodir Khusanov, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Omar Marmoush, and Rayan Cherki doubtful.

Brentford do have the players to hurt City, but with Haaland scoring freely, this could be a difficult game for the hosts. The Cityzens are just shaky enough at the back to concede here, though their far superior and in-form forward line should be able to comfortably secure all three points.

Score prediction: Brentford 1–3 Man City
