Athanasios Kokkinakis, aka Thanasi Kokkinakis, is a 26-year-old, right-handed Australian tennis pro born in Adelaide, South Australia. During his junior career, Kokkinakis was ranked as high as No. 10 in the world, but early in his senior career he was marred with injuries.

His achievements include:

  • winning Junior Grand Slam title,
  • winning the doubles title at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships partnering with Nick Kyrgios, and
  • finishing runner-up in two additional junior Grand Slam singles finals (Australian Open and US Open) in 2013.

Kokkinakis has an estimated net worth of US$2 million. Following is a list of his brand endorsements:

Cotton On

Cotton On was founded on the surf coast of Victoria Australia in 1991. The clothing brand was first linked with sports sponsorship when it partnered with the Australian football league in 2016.

In June 2022, Cotton On announced its first-ever athlete sponsorship with Thanasi Kokkinakis. The Australian tennis star went viral for sporting US$40 Cotton On shorts while winning the Men’s Doubles event at the 2022 Australian Open. This then led to everyone praising him for being a budget king and led Cotton On to swoop in as his sponsor.

SafetyCulture

SafetyCulture is a global technology company that works on safe business development. The company’s cloud-based platform allows businesses to standardise inspections across their operations with customisable, mobile-friendly inspection forms.

SafetyCulture and Thanasi Kokkinakis first partnered in February 2021. After Nike dropped Kokkinakis, he bought a US$6 shirt from Kmart to wear for his matches. SafetyCulture heard the story and stepped up to be his sponsor.

The global tech brand extended its sponsorship agreement with Kokkinakis for a third year in June 2022.

Yonex

Yonex is a Japanese sports equipment manufacturer and is one of the biggest names in racquet sports.

Yonex signed with Thanasi Kokkinakis in March 2022. In the off-season of 2021/22, Kokkinakis started experimenting with Yonex racquets and discovered that the 7th-generation EZONE racquet worked best for him. Kokkinakis entered the court at the Adelaide International 1 wearing a blacked-out EZONE because he was still apprehensive about his performance in the competition.
