Women’s Premier League 2026 | Match 11: Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru | 19:30 IST, 17 January 2026

After two defeats, the Delhi Capitals finally got points on the board with a win against the UP Warriorz in their last match. Put to bat, the Warriorz stuttered in the beginning, losing two early wickets before captain Meg Lanning (54 off 38), along with Harleen Deol (47 off 36), steadied the ship. However, UPW lost wickets in a flurry in the last three overs and couldn’t post a big total, managing just 154/8, with Shafali Verma (2/16) and Marizanne Kapp (2/24) being the pick of the DC bowlers.

In response, the DC openers started in blistering fashion, with Lizelle Lee (67 off 44) supported ably by Shafali Verma (36 off 32). A 94-run opening partnership helped ease the chase. However, Warriorz bowlers tightened things up against new batters Laura Wolvaardt and Jemimah Rodrigues, who found it difficult to score freely. With seven runs required off the last over, DC stuttered to a win on the last ball of the match, making the chase way tougher than it should have been.

The Royal Challengers, on the other hand, played the Gujarat Giants in their last match. Put in to bat, RCB were in trouble at 43/4, with Kashvee Gautam and Sophie Devine striking early blows and supported by some fabulous catching from their fielders. However, Radha Yadav’s promotion up the order turned out to be a masterclass from RCB, as the bowling all-rounder turned the innings around with a top knock of 66 off 44. Richa Ghosh also scored 44 off 28, with Nadine de Klerk putting the finishing touches with a quickfire 26 off 12, taking RCB to a highly competitive 182/7. Devine (3/31) and Gautam (2/42) were the pick of the GG bowlers.

In response, the Giants struck some early blows through Beth Mooney (27 off 14) but lost the dangerous Devine early. They couldn’t quite get a partnership going until Bharti Fulmali (39 off 20) and Gautam (18 off 14) came together and threatened to take the game away with some lusty blows, but Shreyanka Patil struck with four late wickets to stop the GG batters, taking 5/23 in 3.5 overs. Lauren Bell also contributed with the ball with a top spell of 3/29.

In the end, GG missed the target by a considerable margin of 32 runs, with RCB remaining top of the table and the only unbeaten team in the WPL this season.

Coming to this fixture, both the Capitals and the Royal Challengers have some world-class batters in their respective line-ups. That said, RCB bat deeper than GG and possess a superior bowling attack, while DC have been relying heavily on Nandani Sharma for important breakthroughs.

This WPL season has been very unpredictable so far in terms of results, but due to their confidence, and a winning momentum that is yet to hit a bump on the road, the Royal Challengers are our favourites for the win here.
