Commonwealth Bank
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) is an Australian multinational bank with businesses across New Zealand, Asia, the US and the UK. As Australia’s largest banking institution, it provides a variety of financial services, including retail, business, institutional banking, funds management, superannuation, insurance, investment and broking services.
In August 2021, the CBA announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Football Australia, becoming the official naming rights partner of the Australian women’s national football team, the Matildas, as well as the Junior Matildas and the Young Matildas. As per this four-year deal, the CBA is also to invest millions into the development of women’s football as well as push grassroot initiatives (MiniRoos) across the country.
Nike
Nike is an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, markets and distributes sportswear, clothing, footwear and accessories across the world. It is one of the largest sportswear manufacturers in the world.
In 2009, Nike signed an initial nine-year partnership deal with Football Australia. This was then renewed in October 2012. Although the financial details of the agreement were never disclosed, Nike assured that the year-on-year figure was significantly higher than any other deal the company had previously signed in the country.
Qantas
Qantas is the flag carrier airline of Australia and the country’s largest airline by fleet size, international flights, and international destinations. It is the second-oldest airline in operation, having been founded in November 1920.
Qantas has been a long-standing partner of the Socceroos (Australia’s men’s national football team) since 2004. Following a brief pause during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Queensland-based airline extended its partnership with Football Australia for three more years in March 2023. As per the deal, Qantas continues to serve as the official airline of both the Socceroos and the Matildas.
Priceline Pharmacy
Priceline is an Australian health and beauty retailer. Owned by Australian Pharmaceutical Companies, which was acquired by Wesfarmers in 2022, the Priceline brand has two stores: traditional Priceline and Priceline Pharmacy.
In December 2020, Football Australia announced the signing of a three-year partnership agreement with Priceline Pharmacy (Priceline) to support the development of women’s and youth football in the country.
Seven Consulting
Seven Consulting is an Australian Product Management Consultancy. In 2017, it signed a three-year deal with Football Australia to become the official commercial sponsor of the Australian women’s national football team. In 2020, the consultancy firm renewed the contract for a further three years.
Rebel Sport
Rebel Sport is an Australian sports equipment and apparel retail chain.
In 2017, the sporting goods manufacturer signed a three-year partnership deal with Football Australia, becoming a supporting partner of the W-League—Australia’s top tier of professional women’s football—in the process, while also gaining the naming rights to Football Australia’s “Play Football” campaign and Female Football Week.
In 2021, Football Australia announced the signing of a three-year contract renewal with Rebel Sport, with the latter also becoming an Official Partner of the Matildas.
Subway
Founded in 1965, Subway is an American multinational fast-food restaurant franchise that specialises in submarine sandwiches (subs), wraps, salads and drinks.
In September 2022, Football Australia announced the signing of its biggest-ever sponsorship deal with Subway as part of a three-year agreement, which gave Subway the naming rights to the Socceroos as well as the Olyroos (the U23 side that also represents Australia at the Olympics), the Young Socceroos (U20s) and the Joeys (U17s).
Subway also became a partner of the Matildas ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Lego Australia
Lego is a line of plastic construction toys manufactured by The Lego Group — a privately-held company based out of Billund, Denmark.
In November 2022, Football Australia announced the signing of a three-year partnership deal with Lego, as per which Lego’s Australian division became the first official partner of Football Australia’s “Legacy ’23” programme, which aims to encourage and grow the footballers of tomorrow via encompassing play.
