BNP Paribas joins as Title Sponsor.

Multi-national bank BNP Paribas has announced a partnership with the Stockholm Open, joining as the title sponsor of the tennis tournament.

The multi-year partnership will see the tournament be renamed as the BNP Paribas Nordic Open. This year’s edition will be held between October 14 and October 22, 2023 at the Royal Tennis Hall, Stockholm.

Eirik Winter, chief executive of BNP Paribas in the Nordic region, commented,

“We see this as a long-term partnership with the largest tennis tournament in the Nordic region. It’s an honour and incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to help build on the success of the tournament and share the unique atmosphere of the Royal Tennis Hall with an even wider international audience.”

Jamie Perry, the Stockholm Open’s chief executive, added,

“We have been looking for a title sponsor and partner that is genuinely engaged in tennis and

matches our core values of sustainability, love for tennis, and commitment to developing the sport. BNP Paribas checks all those boxes and has considerable experience from other major tennis events. We are very grateful for this partnership and look forward to the start of the tournament in October.”

Apart from the Stockholm Open, BNP Paribas also holds the title sponsorship rights to the Indian Wells Masters, which is now known as the BNP Paribas Open.

After parting ways with Seiko in January 2021, Novak Djokovic stayed without a watch sponsor for almost eight months before joining forces with Hublot in August 2021.  Hublot stood by Novak even after his deportation from Australia. Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe expressed his and the brand’s stance on the situation:  "We are waiting to see what his position is with regards to all that he went through," he said in an interview.  "The principle of vaccines is that it's something private. We value personal freedom. Everybody can decide. One can be in favour or against. That is our position."
