On Day 11 of the 2024 Paris Olympics, World Champion and Tokyo 2020 gold-medallist Armand Duplantis of Sweden not only grabbed his second consecutive gold medal in Men’s Pole Vault but also broke his own world record with a 6.25-metre jump, further etching his name into Olympic glory.
In Track Cycling, the Netherlands smashed the world record in the Men’s Team Sprint (40.949 s) to take the gold medal ahead of Great Britain.

TABLE TENNIS
Men’s Event: The Indian men’s team comprising Achanta Sharath Kamal, Harmeet Desai, and Manav Vikash Thakkar lost 0-3 to the World No.1 Republic of China side of Fan Zhendong, Ma Long, and Wang Chuqin.
WRESTLING
Women’s 50kg: The best news of the day for India came from wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who beat World No. 1 Japanese wrestler Yui Susaki 4-3 in the Round of 16. She went on to win her next three bouts and stormed into the Finals, confirming a medal for India. Phogat also became the first Indian women wrestler to reach an Olympic final. She will play in the gold medal match tomorrow.
ATHLETICS
Women’s 400m Repechage: India’s Kiran Pahal struggled and failed to qualify for the next round.
Men’s Javelin qualifiers: India had two entries in the Qualification round in Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Jena. While Kishore Jena’s throw of 80.73 metres wasn’t enough for qualification, Chopra first throw of 89.34 metres saw him qualify for the Finals in the first position.
HOCKEY
Men’s Hockey: India lost their Semi-final match 2-3 against Germany and will now play in the bronze medal match against Spain, who lost to the Netherlands in their Semi-final match.
