Gfinity to continue supporting the F1 Esports Series.
Gaming and esports company Gfinity has renewed and expanded its partnership with Formula One for an additional year. The extension of the partnership will see Gfinity continue to partner the F1 Esports Series in 2022 and for a limited period in 2023. The Gfinity Arena in London will continue on as the venue for the LAN racing events and the live broadcast will be from the same venue.
Gfinity will provide a dedicated account management team that will take care of all of the deliveries for the programme and an operations team that will work on the rules and govern the drivers participating. Gfinity will also be delivering the Pro Exhibition from the Formula 1 Lenovo British Grand Prix 2022 and the Pro Championship along with providing adjudication services to Codemasters for the 2023 Challenger Series as well.
John Clarke, Chief Executive Officer, Gfinity, commented:
“The F1 Esports Series presented by Aramco is one of the most exciting esports tournaments in the world. We are delighted to continue to work with Formula 1 to deliver an expanded 2022 programme.
“Last year’s Series broke viewing records with more than 23 million views across digital platforms, a 103% year on year increase. The foundations are in place to grow the audience even higher. The thrills and spills of virtual racing have captured the imagination.”
Brandon Snow, Formula One, added:
“We are delighted to extend our agreement with Gfinity. Since 2017, we have seen the rapid growth of the F1 Esports Series and Gfinity have played a core part in that through their continued support in developing and delivering the series.
“We are excited to build on this foundation to bring further excitement to F1 Esports fans across the globe.”
Gfinity had first partnered with Formula One back in 2017 when they launched the F1 Esports Series along with EA/Codemasters.
