Saravanan Sivakumar, better known by his stage name Suriya, has become the latest celebrity to join the upcoming tennis-ball T10 tournament, the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), the south-Indian actor having been confirmed as the owner of the league’s Chennai team.
Suriya becomes the latest among a host of Indian actors who have joined the ISPL as team owners, including Amitabh Bachchan (Mumbai), Hrithik Roshan (Bangalore), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar) and Ram Charan (Hyderabad).

Speaking about becoming an ISPL team owner, Suriya commented:
“It’s an honour to be a part of ISPL, a platform dedicated to showcasing cricketing talent across India. Chennai holds a special place in cricket history with the MA Chidambaram Stadium being the oldest venue in India in continuous use. The Chennai ISPL team will give local talent a unique opportunity to showcase their cricketing skills in this exciting new format.“
