The unbeaten Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on the Mumbai Indians in the next Women’s Premier League 2025 game, with the RCB looking to extend their unbeaten run and the MI also looking to make it back-to-back wins.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Co will be looking to get their batting unit clicking given they have struggled to get going with the bat in both their games thus far. Barring Nat Sciver-Brunt and captain Kaur’s quick-fire 42 against the Delhi Capitals, no other MI batter has crossed the 20-run mark. More will be expected from the experienced Hayley Matthews at the top of the order given the inexperience lower down it. Kiwi all-rounder Amelia Kerr in particular is someone Kaur will be expecting big contributions from.
Mumbai have been more clinical with the ball, though, with Shabnim Ismail and Sciver-Brunt both being economical and among the wickets. Matthews and Kerr have also been chipping in with wickets, giving Kaur a host of bowling options to rely on.
The Royal Challengers, on the other hand, have been clinical in both their opening games, with Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh, and Kanika Ahuja helping the RCB lock in a record WPL chase to kick off their title defence. While it was Perry and the lower order coming together in the first game, it was the star-studded opening pair of Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt-Hodge that shone in the second game, as their 107-run partnership helped Bengaluru chase down 146 with ease against the Delhi Capitals.
Like Mumbai, the RCB have also had their opening bowler, Renuka Singh, chip in with wickets while being economical. Mandhana has seen her star international bowlers Kim Garth and Georgia Wareham frequently pick wickets as well, while the young Kanika Ahuja and Ekta Bisht have also been good options for their captain.
With the Mumbai Indians slowly finding their footing, we should be in for a blockbuster clash at Bengaluru, with a run fest on the cards. We give Mandhana and Co the edge here given their form and comparatively stronger batting unit.
