Today, however, we will tell you how these two tennis players are also competitors in the world of brands. Their bags of endorsement include many rival brands, and here we have a list of them all.
Apparel – Uniqlo and Nike
Nike was a sponsor of both Federer and Nadal until the middle of 2018. But then, when Federer’s deal with the sportswear manufacturer came to an end, he joined forces with Japanese brand, Uniqlo. Nadal is still very much a partner of Nike.
Watch – Rolex and Richard Mille
Richard Mille and Rolex are two super luxurious watch brands. Federer belongs to team Rolex while Nadal is in team Richard Mille. The two wear these watches in their personal space and also on court especially during the post-tournament presentation ceremonies.
Racquet – Wilson and Babolat
Wilson Sporting Goods Company makes Federer’s tennis racquets, and Babolat has been taking care of Nadal’s racquets since he was merely 13.
Telephone Operators – Sunrise and Telefónica
While Sunrise is Switzerland’s private telecommunications operator, Telefónica is a Spanish multinational broadband and telecommunications provider. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are the respective brand ambassador of each of these brands.
Cars – Mercedes-Benz and Kia Motors
Nadal’s association with Kia Motors first began in 2004 and Federer became the brand ambassador of Mercedes-Benz in 2010. Thanks to their respective contracts, the two players own many cars from their sponsor brands.
Banking Groups – Credit Suisse and Banco Sabadell
Credit Suisse is a Swiss multinational investment bank that roped in Federer as its brand ambassador in 2009. Five years later, in 2014, Banco Sabadell, a banking group headquartered in Alicante, Spain joined hands with Rafa.
