Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 | Australia v India 2nd Test | Preview and Predictions Can the hosts fight back to tie the series? Hosts Australia were stunned in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 as a handicapped Indian squad, without their captain, hit hard to draw first blood in the five-match Test series. India have their captain and first squad back as they head to Adelaide for the second Test, which will be a pink-ball day/night Test. Ahead of the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 Test match, here's our match preview and predictions. Australia vs India 2nd Test | Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 | 09:30 IST, December 06 - 10 The first Test saw India have a horror start with the bat, after electing to bat first as barring KL Rahul, no one looked comfortable as the visitors were knocked out cheaply for 150. With not a lot of runs on the board, it was stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah, once again bailing his team out with a terrific five-wicket haul to bundle out Australia for 104. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal made amends in the second innings, providing India the perfect platform which Virat Kohli capitalised on which saw India put up a massive second innings score and set a huge target. Bumrah led from the front once again and this time supported by Siraj and bowled out Australia under 250 to pick up a huge 295 run win. For the hosts, while they started well with the ball, with Josh Hazlewood picking up four, Hazlewood will miss the second Test as a result of an injury although Australia have a more than handy replacement in Scot Boland. With the bat, barring Travis Head's 89, none of the Australians crossed the 50-run mark in either innings and the hosts will hope that the likes of Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschange step up. The Adelaide Oval will be one which will provide some support for the fast bowlers and the pink ball should trouble the batters early on. With India having Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill back in the XI, although Sharma will move away from his preferred opening spot, it will be the visitors holding the advantage. Fantasy XI: Travis Head, KL Rahul, Steve Smith, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins Venue: Adelaide Winners Prediction: India
