Cricket Wireless become title sponsor for the MEAC/SWAC challenge kick off

ESPN events which is a division of ESPN network has decided to sign a three-year partnership deal with the phone manufacturing company Cricket Wireless who are going to be the new Title sponsors for the MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kick off and Celebration Bowl. Both of these events take place in Atlanta and celebrate the tradition, legacy and values of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Due to the current pandemic situation, the early season matchups between different football teams were cancelled but will be resuming from 2021 to the delight of the fans who will be able to watch them through the live online watch parties.

Speaking about this new partnership, John Grant, executive director for the MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kick off and Celebration bowl said “We are delighted to have Cricket Wireless as the title sponsor of both our football kick off and bowl games,” said John Grant, executive director for the MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kick off and Celebration Bowl. “These events provide valuable diversity to the sports offerings in the city of Atlanta. This relationship reflects our mutual passion for and appreciation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the valuable contributions they make to our nation. We look forward to working together and building world-class events in a world-class city.”

Vice president and Chief Marketing officer of Cricket Wireless also added her comments – “At Cricket, we’re all about creating a meaningful connection with our customers and within the communities where we operate. Our extended relationship with ESPN allows us to continue to introduce our brand to HBCU students, alumni and fans. It also means that we can help amplify the rich culture and legacy of HBCUs, and the positive impact they have within the Black community.”
