The action doesn’t stop at the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup as we have another triple-header ahead of us, with the defending champions England in action today desperate for a win. The two-time T20 world champions West Indies are also in action today.

Here’s our match predictions for Day 12 of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Men’s T20 WC 2024 Match 26: West Indies vs New Zealand | 06:00 IST, June 13

The day kicks off with a blockbuster match between the West Indies and New Zealand, with two teams coming into the game at contrasting points in the tournament.

The Windies have started the tournament strongly with two wins from as many games, while New Zealand suffered a massive loss to Afghanistan in their opener.

The Kiwi batters just didn’t turn up against Afghanistan as they suffered an 84-run loss, which has also hampered their net run rate. Only two of their batters got to double digits and struggled against Rashid Khan and Fazallaq Farooqi.

The West Indies, meanwhile, come into this game on the back of a dominant win against Uganda, with all their batters getting good starts and Akeal Hosein having a field day with the ball.

At a high-scoring ground in Tarouba, we should expect plenty of fireworks from both the teams, with the West Indies having the edge here against an out-of-form New Zealand side.

Fantasy XI: Brandon King, Devon Conway Johnson Charles, Kane Williamson, Glenn Philips, Nicholas Pooran, Akeal Hosein, Andre Russell, Mitchell Santner, Alzarri Joseph, Trent Boult

Venue: Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago
Winner Prediction: West Indies

Men’s T20 WC 2024 Match 27: Bangladesh vs Netherlands | 20:00 IST, June 13

After their heart-breaking loss to South Africa, Bangladesh will be eager to get their second win, and they couldn’t have asked for better opponents. The Netherlands come into the game with one win and one loss from their first two games, but the experienced Bangladeshi side hold the edge here.

The Dutch struggled against the pace line-up of Marco Jansen, Ottneil Baartman, and Anrich Nortje. Bangladesh’s seam line-up of Tanzim Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, and Mustafizur Rahman, who kept the Proteas in check in their last game, should thus be a big worry for them.

While the Bangladeshi batters didn’t get going against South Africa, against a less-experienced Netherlands side they will back themselves. I, too, back the Asian team to net an important win in this encounter.

Fantasy XI: Litton Das, Max O’Dowd, Vikramjit Singh, Sybrand Engelbrecht, Towhid Hridoy, Shakib Al Hasan, Tanzim Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Tim Pringle, Logan van Beek

Venue: Kingstown
Winner Prediction: Bangladesh

Men’s T20 WC 2024 Match 28: England vs Oman | 00:30 IST, June 14

The final game of the day will see England try and get their campaign on track as they go up against a crestfallen Oman side.

Oman looked like they would steal a win over Namibia in the campaign opener but went down in the Super Over. They were then beaten convincingly by Australia in their second game.

England, meanwhile, had their opening game washed out before suffering a big loss to Australia. They now need to win all their remaining games to make it through to the Super Eights.

England are the big favourites in North Sound and should back themselves for a big win to boost their confidence (and net run rate).

While we have seen quite a few upsets in the tournament so far, the defending champions should have it easy against Oman.

Fantasy XI: Jos Buttler, Phil Salt, Pratik Athavale, Zeeshan Maqsood, Aqib Ilyas, Moeen Ali, Ayaan Khan, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Chris Jordan, Mehran Khan

Venue: North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda
Winner Prediction: England
