IPL Suspended for Indefinite Period following a Surge in Cases in Bio Bubble

Amidst India’s Covid 19 crisis, BCCI has decided to suspend the Indian Premier League for an indefinite period.

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla has made it clear the tournament has only been suspended and could be back if the situation allows. “IPL has been suspended. We will see whether we can reschedule it, it is not cancelled. It is just suspended for now.”

In the wake of the rising cases in the Bio Bubble, the cricket board had to come to a conclusion, and the decision has been taken at last.

Sourav Ganguly and the company were facing enormous pressure from all over India, and their inability to handle the Covid situation has worsened the situation even more.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has become the latest franchise to report covid cases as Wriddhiman Saha has tested positive for the virus. The team was scheduled to face Mumbai Indians today, but with the IPL suspended, it remains to be seen whether the players can exit the bio bubble or not.
