Mercedes team up with G42
Leading UAE-based artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing technology company, G42, have been announced as an Official Partner of German Formula One team Mercedes following a multi-year partnership with the German team. The partnership will see Mercedes use G42's software and solutions for critical insights. Additionally the agreement will also focus on talent development programmes, joint training, and innovation workshops. Both parties will also work to find new areas to deploy AI and use it to the team's advantage. The partnership will see the G42 logo present on the Mercedes race car and on the race helmets of both drivers and in the team garage during race weekends. Peng Xiao, Group CEO at G42, commented, "Modern motorsport and technology go hand-in-hand, especially when you consider the sheer magnitude of critical data that is generated during every race weekend. By combining exceptional human talent with advanced AI, big data analytics and computing power, we are in a position to optimise a wide range of processes, both on and off the track, enabling decision dominance and expanding the boundaries of what’s currently possible. Formula E announces multi-year partnership with Tata Communications
Formula E have roped in Tata Communications as the Official Broadcast Distribution Provider of the Championship, following a multi-year deal. The partnership will see Tata Communications deliver high-definition, high-resolution and high-speed live broadcast content to audiences worldwide and is a part of Formula E's new remote broadcast production of live races, which is aimed at reducing the environmental impact typical of major live international sports events on TV. The new broadcast, supported by Tata, will provide round-the-clock global end-to-end managed services at all the races in the season. Both parties are also working together to create more fan experiences through innovation and efficiency. Jamie Reigle, CEO , Formula E, commented, "Formula E is an intense tour given its on-the-go nature. Tata Communications' support over the years has enabled state-of-the-art remote production possible, with real-time TV signal transmissions from the race venues to our broadcast centre in London and finally to the audience's screens. Thus, bringing down multiple logistical challenges, driving cost efficiencies, travel flexibilities for our employees, especially women, and reducing emissions."
