Indian home-grown biryani and kebab brand, Biryani by Kilo have roped in star badminton player PV Sindhu as their brand ambassador. Sindhu who will be the face of the brand and headline multiple campaigns and advertisements for the brand, hails from Hyderabad, which is also known as the Biryani capital of the country. FaZe Clan inks new deal with Porsche
North American esports and gaming organisation FaZe Clan have inked a multi-year deal with luxury sports car brand Porsche. The partnership will see Porsche and FaZe work together on various esports initiatives, create original content to inspire upcoming gamers and also work on a host of consumer products and digital goods, which will be released later in 2023. Porsche will also join as an Official Partner of all of FaZe Clan's esports teams. The partnership between FaZe and Porsche will get underway with an exclusive content series which will have FaZe Clan members speaking about their stories of success and engaging in various experiences through Porsche. FaZe and Porsche will also collaborate on digital goods and offerings in the Web3 space. Arsenal team up with Pixstory to drive out online hate
The made in India Pixstory app took the centre-stage at the Premier League match Arsenal vs Manchester United at the Emirates stadium on Sunday. NBA star and Pixstory brand ambassador Dwight Howard kicked off proceedings with a pitch for a cleaner social media. This was followed by more than 50,000 fans in the stadium using Pixstory clappers to make some noise and raise awareness against online hate. Using cutting-edge AI, Pixstory’s algorithms filter out hate speech, promoting decency in conversations and breaking the echo chambers that have formed on social media. In attendance were global honchos from the corporate world including Amit Mittal, former special advisor to President Joe Biden, Yosuke Sasaki, Softbank chief of staff, and Cara Sweeney, senior Coca Cola official. They were joined by top journalists, including Variety Executive Editor Steven Gaydos and Athletic Senior Editor Kevin Coulson. Apart from Arsenal, more marquee clubs including Juventus and PSG Feminines have partnered with Pixstory in the mission to build a better social media space. The app is collaborating with the Oxford Internet Institute on research towards building a safer and more collaborative social platform.
Jehan Daruvala joins MP Motorsport for upcoming F2 season
Indian motor-racer Jehan Daruvala has been roped in by MP Motorsport for the upcoming Formula 2 season. With the signing of Daruvala, the Formula 2 grid for the 2023 season is complete. Daruvala will be joining the defending Drivers' and Teams' Champions and will be partnering Dennis Hauger. Daruvala made his Formula Renault 2.0 debut in 2015 with Fortec Motorsport and took home his first race win in 2016 with Josef Kaufmann Racing. He has competed in the Formula 3 championship, Toyota Racing Series and Macau Grand Prix before making his Formula 2 debut in 2020 with Carlin. After two seasons with Carlin, Daruvala competed with Prema Racing during the Formula 2 2022 season where he finished seventh in the championship with a win and eight podiums. Along with joining MP Motorsport, Daruvala has also been signed as the Official Reserve Driver for Mahindra Racing in Formula E.
Jamie Chadwick to continue with Williams Racing
Three-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick will be continuing on with the Williams Racing Driver Academy, Chadwick has been apart of the Driver Academy since 2019 and will continue to work on her personalised simulator program to prepare herself for her upcoming INDY NXT journey and also provide the team will valuable support for their race preparations. Chadwick has won all three of the W Series championships held till date whilst being a member of the Williams Driver Academy and will be moving on to the INDY NXT series in 2023 with Andretti Autosport. Jamie Chadwick, three-time W Series champion, commented, "To be continuing my relationship with Williams is amazing. I’ve had their support since 2019. Having the opportunity to immerse myself within the team and keep that Formula One dream alive is very important. I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
FIA announces changes in management structure
The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has announced a host of managerial changes which will see Formula One Sporting Director Steve Nielsen leave his role to take up the same role in the FIA. As Sporting Director at the FIA, Nielsen will oversee the sporting matters which will include the development of Race Control and the Remote Operations Centre, as well as future updates to the Sporting Regulations. Tim Goss will take up the role of Technical Director, Federico Lodi, the former FIA Financial Regulations member will become the Formula One Financial Director while François Sicard, a former Sporting Director will take up the role of Formula One Strategy & Operations Director and will be overseeing the long-term strategic planning and also be responsible for key trackside activities and logistics. Former Formula One's Technical Team Head, Nikolas Tombazis will take on the role of the FIA's Single Seater Director. All changes will be implemented from the upcoming 2023 season.
Ferrari announce Reserve Drivers for F1 2023 season
Italian Formula One team Ferrari have announced their roster for their Reserve and Development Drivers for the upcoming Formula One 2023 season. Ferrari have announced a total of four drivers who will support the team's main two drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The four drivers will be former Formula One driver Antonio Giovinazzi, Robert Shwartzman, both of whom will share the Reserve Driver role along as they will also work on Ferrari's new simulator, launched last year. Along with Giovinazzi and Shwartzman, Antonio Fuoco and Davide Rigon will work as Development Drivers, putting in the hours in the simulator. Fuoco is a Formula 2 race winner while Rigon races in the GT series. Giovinazzi has been a long standing member of the Ferrari Academy and has driven for Alfa Romeo for multiple seasons in Formula One. Robert Shwartzman meanwhile, another Ferrari Driver Academy member, was the Formula 2 runner-up last season.
